Last week was my first time here and it was fantastic. The chicken was delicious and the couscous was among the best I’ve had. The cooked onions and couscous go very well together. The portions were really nice too and I like how they cut up the chicken to make it easier to handle. This will be my new go-to when I’m in the area.
I just moved to Columbus looking for some good African food. This restaurant seemed to be the perfect place to try based off the reviews. The presentation looks good. My food had no flavor and my onions were practically raw. I had to go home and doctor up my food. I am truly disappointed. I was soo happy to get my order and take it home just to be disappointed. My vermicelli was warm but looked like it had been sitting. Overall , I would try this place again just made a different dish.
Updates April 2022 it's still the best african restaurant in town. I always stop by when traveling through Columbus and even met another customer who is a truck driver who shared stopping by each time he travels through as well. The decor has been improved, the seating area is more inviting and could even hold a reception.
The food is the bomb whether you are trying african food for the first time or as an African I'd recommend
Best African restaurant in columbus. A must try for anyone living or traveling through OH.
My favorite dish is the tchep any option with fish or lamb but EVERYTHING on the menu is good and a must try! Nice place to experience the Senegalese or West African culture.
I always get the tchep there and have never been disappointed.
Dine in option is available although I usualy order to go and there can be a wait time/ line before service.
Tu peux gouter tous les tcheps des restaurants Africains a Columbus ya pas son 2.
Merci maman
Worst customer service ever! I literally spoke to the lady and told her they forgot my side that was supposed to come with my order. She told me to complain to Uber eats and not her. Then proceeded to hang up in my face. I would definitely not recommend using no delivery apps when ordering from this place. I called back, and she told me to order something else so they can add my missing side to the new order just to get charged again. They still did not deliver my side. Senegalese people really forget where they come from once they land in America. I literally lost my whole appetite. I would’ve ordered a Mchicken from McDonald’s if I knew I would have to deal with this.
It was nothing short of spectacular. I started with the yassa chicken, a dish bursting with flavor from the perfectly marinated chicken and tangy onion sauce. The thieboudienne, Senegal's national dish, was a true masterpiece. The tender fish and flavorful jollof rice were a match made in heaven.
What impressed me most was the restaurant's commitment to authenticity. The ingredients used were fresh, and the spices were blended to perfection, capturing the essence of Senegalese cuisine. The portions were generous, and each dish was served with care. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.
Sweet people, excellent food. Their thieboujenne brought me back to my time living in Senegal. Enjoy their food with bissap juice :)
i’m very disappointed my first time eating there me & my husband got food poisoning. NEVER AGAIN
Food was colder than room temperature which seems to me like they just pulled a cooked meal out of the refrigerator and served it to me. I feel like I definitely didn't get my moneys worth. 1st time and last time customer. Whoever serves food that cold shouldn't be in business. The rice rolls and meat pockets were warm. My chicken and lamb and rice was guaranteed pulled from a refrigerator. That's disrespectful.......
